Worship at Home: Family Service Sunday 1st June
Introit Hymn
We stand to sing as the choir and servers come in.
The Greeting
In the name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
All Amen.
The Lord be with you.
All and also with you.
The priest welcomes everyone and introduces the theme.
Prayers of Confession and Forgiveness
In silence we think of those things for which we need to say sorry to God.
God our Father,
we come to you in sorrow for our sins.
For turning away from you.
and ignoring your will for our lives;
Father, forgive us:
All save us and help us.
For behaving just as we wish,
without thinking of you;
Father, forgive us:
All save us and help us.
For failing you by what we do,
and think and say;
Father, forgive us:
All save us and help us.
For letting ourselves be drawn away from you
by temptations in the world about us;
Father, forgive us:
All save us and help us.
For living as if we were ashamed
to belong to your Son;
Father, forgive us:
All save us and help us.
Almighty God,
who forgives all who truly repent,
have mercy upon you,
pardon and deliver you from all your sins,
confirm and strengthen you in all goodness,
and keep you in eternal life;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
All Amen.
The Gloria
We sing together
Glory to God, Glory to God, Glory to the Father.
To him be glory for ever.
Alleluia Amen. Alleluia Amen. Alleluia Amen.
Glory to God, Glory to God, Son of the Father. …
Glory to God, Glory to God, Glory to the Spirit. ….
The Collect (the Prayer of the Day)
Let us pray
After a short period of silence for our personal prayers, the Collect is said
O God the King of glory,
you have exalted your only Son Jesus Christ
with great triumph to your kingdom in heaven:
we beseech you, leave us not comfortless,
but send your Holy Spirit to strengthen us
and exalt us to the place where our Saviour Christ is gone before,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
All Amen.
We sit to listen to the readings from the Bible. They are also found on the readings sheet.
First Reading
Acts 16:16 - 34
At the end of each reading the reader says
This is the word of the Lord.
All Thanks be to God.
The Psalm
A response is said or sung. It is on the readings sheet.
Psalm 97
1 The Lord is king: let the earth rejoice; ♦
let the multitude of the isles be glad.
2 Clouds and darkness are round about him; ♦
righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
3 Fire goes before him ♦
and burns up his enemies on every side.
4 His lightnings lit up the world; ♦
the earth saw it and trembled.
5 The mountains melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, ♦
at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
6 The heavens declared his righteousness, ♦
and all the peoples have seen his glory.
7 Confounded be all who worship carved images
and delight in mere idols. ♦
Bow down before him, all you gods.
8 Zion heard and was glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoiced, ♦
because of your judgements, O Lord.
9 For you, Lord, are most high over all the earth; ♦
you are exalted far above all gods.
10 The Lord loves those who hate evil; ♦
he preserves the lives of his faithful
and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
11 Light has sprung up for the righteous ♦
and joy for the true of heart.
12 Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous, ♦
and give thanks to his holy name.

The Creed
We declare our faith in God.
Do you believe and trust in God the Father,
source of all being and life,
the One for whom we exist?
All We believe and trust in Him.
Do you believe and trust in God the Son,
who took our human nature,
died for us and rose again?
All We believe and trust in Him.
Do you believe and trust in God the Holy Spirit,
who gives life to the people of God
and makes Christ known in the world?
All We believe and trust in Him.
This is the faith of the Church.
All This is our faith.
We believe and trust in one God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
Prayers of Intercession
At the end of each section:
Lord in your mercy
All Hear our prayer
In our prayer this week we pray for:
God’s church throughout the world, especially for our brothers and sisters who are being persecuted for proclaiming the truth of the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
Peace and provision in the world especially in Ukraine, and The Middle East.
For those we know who do not yet know Jesus as Lord, especially our family members.
For our young people especially those sitting exams in this term that God would give them peace, calm and good recall.
For healing for all those who are sick in mind body or spirit especially Baby Dylan, Fr Ken, Alex, Debbie L, Tracey, Ted, Beth, Malcolm, Carmen, Henry, Sunitra, Alexander.
For comfort for the bereaved, as we remember those who have died recently, and those whose anniversary falls at this time, among them Micael and Jean-Claude.
We finish our prayer by saying:
Merciful Father,
All accept these prayers for the sake of your Son,
our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen
The Peace
We are all one in Christ Jesus. We belong to him through faith, heirs of the promise of the Spirit of peace. The peace of the Lord be always with you.
All And also with you.
Let us offer one another a sign of peace.
We express our unity and love for our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Offertory Hymn
During the hymn, a collection is taken. The gifts of bread and wine are taken to the altar.
The Eucharistic Prayer
The Lord be with you
All and also with you
Lift up your hearts
All We lift them to the Lord
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God
All It is right to give thanks and praise
It is right to praise you, Father, Lord of all creation;
in your love you made us for yourself.
When we turned away
you did not reject us,
but came to meet us in your Son.
All You embraced us as your children
and welcomed us to sit and eat with you.
In Christ you shared our life
that we might live in him and he in us.
All He opened his arms of love upon the cross
and made for all the perfect sacrifice for sin.
As we proclaim his death and celebrate his rising in glory,
send your Holy Spirit that this bread and this wine
may be to us the body and blood of your dear Son.
All As we eat and drink these holy gifts
make us one in Christ, our risen Lord.
On the night he was betrayed,
at supper with his friends
he took bread, and gave you thanks;
he broke it and gave it to them, saying:
Take, eat; this is my body which is given for you;
do this in remembrance of me.
All Father, we do this in remembrance of him:
his body is the bread of life.
At the end of supper, taking the cup of wine,
he gave you thanks, and said: Drink this, all of you; this is my blood of the new covenant,
which is shed for you for the forgiveness of sins;
do this in remembrance of me.
All Father, we do this in remembrance of him:
his blood is shed for all.
With your whole Church throughout the world
we offer you this sacrifice of praise
and lift our voice to join the eternal song of heaven:
We sing:
All Holy, holy, holy is the Lord;
holy is the Lord God Almighty!
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord;
holy is the Lord God Almighty!
Who was and is and is to come.
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord!
The Lord’s Prayer
Let us pray with confidence as our Saviour has taught
us
All Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.
Breaking of the Bread
We break this bread to share in the body of Christ.
All Though we are many, we are one body,
because we all share in one bread.
We sing:
All Jesus, Lamb of God, have mercy.
Bearer of our sins, have mercy.
Jesus, Lamb of God, have mercy.
Bearer of our sins, have mercy.
Saviour of the world, Lord Jesus,
May your peace with us us always.
Saviour of the world, Lord Jesus,
May your peace with us us always.
Giving of Communion
Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Blessed are those who are called to his supper.
All Lord, I am not worthy to receive you,
but only say the word, and I shall be healed.
During communion hymns will be sung and you are welcome to join in.
Prayer after Communion
Silence is kept.
The post-communion prayer is said by the priest.
Eternal God, giver of love and power,
your Son Jesus Christ has sent us into all the world

and help us to live the good news we proclaim;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
All Amen.
All Almighty God,
we thank you for feeding us
